Legendary Icons!

What's up, Queen's and King's?! Welcome to Story Behind the Look! I hope you all are well and preparing for the Holiday's! Although, I'm not. All my gifts still at the store LOL. Christmas snuck up on me this year but I'll get it done. Question for y'all, do you truly know who you are? Take some time to process that. It's completely okay if you don't know. It took me a while to truly understand who I am as well. We will come back to this later but for now let's get into this weeks LOOK!

I took this photo a couple weeks back when I was fed up taking photos in my apartment. I went out to the Art District one day and did a photoshoot by myself. All I needed was my Bluetooth tripod and my phone. I bought this shirt from Goodwill for $2.25! I just so happen to find it on a day that all "grey tags" were half off. I love those days. If you didn't know Goodwill offer half off days everyday depending on the tag color. I loved the vibrant colors and print of this shirt. I knew this shirt could be worn in more than one way which is why I bought it. I decided to create two different outfits. One where I wore the shirt as a dress and accessorized it with a gold belt. The second look, I decided to actually wear it as a shirt with a black skirt. Both looks gave me fashion. Although, I must say the dress look was my favorite! It was so chic and stylish. I would wear it to brunch, lounge, nightclub or any social event. I would wear the look below on a date or an event. Clothing is all in what you make it. Especially, thrifted items. Make it fashion!

I decided to use the Kobe Bryant mural to honor him. I also saw this mural as a representation of black culture, leadership, honor, respect, wisdom and love. I saw three people who inspire others daily. Three people who gives back. Three people who motivate others. Three legendary icons. I know who I am and I can be whoever I want to be.

Kobe, may you continue to rest in peace.

"The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do." -Kobe Bryant

So there you have it folks, "Story Behind the Look!" This was so much fun! I enjoyed being out and about getting stuff done by myself. The art, the creativity, the experience was amazing. Folks, know who you are and live up to that every single chance you get. Live in your truth and own it. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Sometimes that's the best thing you can do for yourself. I love y'all. Until next time, be kind to yourself and if there is something that you want to do, DO IT!
